Good Morning Bangor Maine

Here’s a few shots I took this morning in Bangor Maine beside the river where I like to walk Vinny. You know I had to include at least one sailboat picture!

  1. Such stunning pictures …. I have no favourite except perhaps the early mist on the river beneath that bridge and the clouds reflecting in the water. I was in Newport VT the other day and found a lovely boat for sale. I asked my husband if he thought you could sail the Atlantic in her – he remarked in the affirmative. Sadly I had no camera on me so I missed an opportunity to share her with you but I wanted you (and Vinny) to know that you are often in my thoughts when I’m wandering along. You see the world through such similar eyes to mine, or I with similar to you depending on the angle!

    1. So nice to hear from you. I hope your days off were energizing and soothing for you and the bean. It’s always cheaper to buy a sailboat in the fall as many people don’t want to pay for winter storage. If things go well this next year, I may be in a position to purchase next fall and start the refit. By the following summer I should be in the water but still have quite a bit to do before any “Ocean” passages. I so look forward to sailing the coast of france with you and hb2!

      1. It was absolutely beautiful …. just as I like it – not many people, beautiful scenery (and those colours …. OK, now I get what the fuss is about!). We stayed in a cabin with no TV, no wifi but a great space to cook in. We walked (me trying out my new leg brace which is incredible – it enables me to walk normally without the flapping foot and will change my life). My timeline is to be back here (after 8 months in France) next June and then I will be here if all goes to plan for the next 18-24 months. This should give you plenty of time to buy the boat, refit it and get planning to sail to France in time for me and The Bean to meet you and get you understanding why I makes such a fuss about the place! Dreams are for the grabbing and it only takes a tiny bit of space for me to reset my head to dream-grabber and Vermont provided with that space!

      2. I was honestly overwhelmed – I got neck ache as my head spun hither and thither taking it all in and of course I was only there at the very start – I imagine if I headed North in a week from now I would faint!

  2. Vinnie seems very interested in the smell mails he is gathering! What lovely pictures! You know you lead a very blessed life, right? Freedom of the road, all this beauty to see and a great companion to keep you company!

  4. Love how you bring Maine to life. I’ve never been there, but your photos “put” me right in the scene. Gorgeous pictures. I love the one of the sun and its reflection on the water. 🙂
