Beautiful

Everybody knows we live in a world
Where they give bad names to beautiful things
Everybody knows we live in a world
Where we don’t give beautiful things a second glance
Heaven only knows we live in a world
Where what we call beautiful is just something on sale
People laughing behind their hands
As the fragile and the sensitive are given no chance

And the leaves turn from red to brown
To be trodden down
To be trodden down
And the leaves turn from red to brown
Fall to the ground
Fall to the ground

We don’t have to live in a world
Where we give bad names to beautiful things
We should live in a beautiful world
We should give beautiful a second chance

And the leaves fall from red to brown
To be trodden down
Trodden down
And the leaves turn green to red to brown
Fall to the ground
And get kicked around

You strong enough to be
Have you the courage to be
Have you the faith to be
Honest enough to stay
Don’t have to be the same
Don’t have to be this way
C’mon and sign your name
You wild enough to remain beautiful?
Beautiful

And the leaves turn from red to brown
To be trodden down
Trodden down
And we fall green to red to brown
Fall to the ground
But we can turn it around

You strong enough to be
Why don’t you stand up and say
Give yourself a break
They’ll laugh at you anyway
So why don’t you stand up and be
Beautiful

Black, white, red, gold, and brown
We’re stuck in this world
Nowhere to go
Turnin’ around
What are you so afraid of?
Show us what you’re made of
Be yourself and be beautiful
Beautiful

Marillion – Beautiful

(If you don’t know this song take a moment, follow the above link and be inspired!)

My life has taken many twists and turns, blind alleys beset with uneven stones to break my gait. A darkened corner with fearful residents I must walk by, even though I want to run. Such is the life I have chosen for myself and I regret not a single day. So many memories, some good and some bad, fill my mind with passionate promises of things to come and pleasures past. Sorrows still strong and some faded add grounding to the soaring beauty all around me. Simple things give me the greatest pleasure.

A walk down this shaded path brings forth a peaceful sense of all we have to see and feel, smell and touch in a world without walls, the natural state of things. No cars to destroy the solitude, no people to litter the ground with all that is felt to be disposable. Just the state of being that was here before man, and will be long after we destroy ourselves. If left untouched it will last for time immortal.

The view at my campsite

This summer I have taken a job as a ranch hand at a buffalo ranch here in Maine. I’m camping in my overland Jeep with the perfect view to enjoy my morning coffee and my evening meal. Away from the world I live in a dream state. Free from the pressures of modern life I relish every moment to it’s fullest.

2 weeks old!

Life renews itself when man stays out of the mix, a balance of all things even though sometimes it may seen cruel. This little one is healthy and happy, yet others died before their first week of life. Buried yet not forgotten, each life is precious but we have no real control over the fate of each. Sad as it is the herd continues to grow despite the loss. Such is the nature of things.

When you look through life’s window, gaze upon the world as a whole, you realize just how beautiful life can be if you let go all the troubles that weigh you down. There is a purpose to all things but you must focus your gaze to the greater picture. Let go the snapshot in time of a hurt or pain, and bring forth the feeling of peace only true acceptance of the lack of control over your own fate. You only get one life so don’t waste time with the pain, it will always be there. Instead focus on the beautiful things, whatever name they hold, and be fulfilled.
